Thanks for supporting me!
I started my Arthritis journey in June 2003. I had quit moving my left arm and was no longer able to straighten it out. Mom and dad thought I had broken it or something. That would have been too easy. After many tests I was diagnosed with Polyarticular Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA), meaning many joints affected. My Rheumatologist Dr. Richard Vehe went right to work and I gained total use of my arm back after steroid injections and therapy. With his help and the right cocktail of medications I have been able to be as normal as the next kid. Mom and dad say they are pretty proud of how I handle it all. I take my meds well and if in the right mood will even give my own shots (otherwise mom and dad still help). I often say “So if we raise enough money I can stop taking my meds?” My team Al's Pal's is walking again in hopes that our donations can make that happen someday. With the help of my family and friends and everyone’s donations we hope to one day know that we had a little part in helping find a cure for JRA! Thanks for supporting me and my team, Al's Pal's!
